Bingo Kasuri — Traditional Indigo Textile from Hiroshima

Bingo Kasuri is one of Japan’s three major kasuri textiles, alongside Kurume Kasuri and Iyo Kasuri.

Woven in the Fukuyama region of Hiroshima since the late Edo period, Bingo Kasuri is known for its durable yet soft indigo-dyed cotton fabric. Recognised as a traditional craft of Hiroshima Prefecture in 1992, it features distinctive geometric patterns such as igeta lattice, stripes, and checks.

Reflecting over 150 years of Japanese textile craftsmanship, Bingo Kasuri is a timeless fabric where tradition meets a more contemporary expression.
