Hand Drawing in Japan

Graphically, Kutani-yaki (ware) deploys diverse motifs, ranging from traditional Japanese auspicious symbols to nature-inspired patterns.

Imagery often includes landscapes, flora, fauna, and mythological figures, rendered in sharp lines and bright hues.

The round shape of the polka dot pattern is considered a symbol of gold in Feng Shui, and can be expected to improve your financial luck. The round shape is a shape that represents "fruitfulness" and encourages things to come true.

Kutani Bitouen Eisyou (瑛生)

The name "Eisyou" was given by Mr. Tadashi Shinoshima, a graduate of Tokyo University of the Arts, to express that Kutani Bitouen's vessels would "make the best use of the beautiful kutani-stones".

Mr. Tadashi Shinojima was a culinary researcher from the Showa era to the Heisei era, and his family was a traditional Japanese restaurant that was cooked for the emperor at the Kyoto Imperial Palace for generations.

To produce Kutani-yaki (Kutani ware) that is suitable for modern life and loved by people in Japan and abroad. This is the theme of Kutani Bitouen, which has a history of 100 years. It is their belief that Kutani patterns, with their depth and grandeur reminiscent of the Sea of Japan in winter, have both modernity and internationality.
