Collection: Kazu Fujiwara & Yu Fujiwara – Bizen Ware Ceramic Artists

Father and son Yu Fujiwara and Kazu Fujiwara represent two generations of the Fujiwara family’s Bizen ceramic heritage. Yu, a Living National Treasure (Ningen Kokuho), carried forward the tradition of his father Kei, also a Living National Treasure.

Born in Honami, Bizen City, in 1958, Kazu trained under both his grandfather Kei and father Yu. He continues this family legacy while exploring new possibilities within traditional Bizen ware.

This collection brings together works by Yu and Kazu, celebrating the natural character of unglazed clay, the individuality of kiln firing and a tradition passed from one generation to the next.

A Bizen tea caddy (chaire) by Living National Treasure Yu Fujiwara, from Kazu Fujiwara’s own collection, will also be exhibited and offered for sale.
