Here at Sillage they loves culture, art, history, nature, and a number of other things, but there’s one thing in particular that will always have their whole heart: classic cars.
They love the history behind them, the mechanical movements and technologies imbued into the essence of their design through engineering, and the love required to maintain older classics, and that’s why for their first official FW22 drop they would like to introduce the Safari Collection -- a small line of clothes perfect for comfortably wandering the outdoors, featuring a beautiful all-over embroidery of Defenders and Range Rovers. Through this small collection, they’ll also be introducing a brand-new silhouette for the first time ever this fall season, our beautiful and incredibly functional Multi-Pocket Jacket.
For the all-over embroidery they had Hisayuki Hiranuma, both an artist and good friend of the brand, illustrate Yuthanan’s iconic Defender, as well as Masa’s classic Range Rover, in a way that fully captured all of the little details in their personal vehicles (i.e. the original Keswick green color of Yuthanan’s Defender). They then had these illustrations neatly embroidered onto a small collection of Sillage pieces in an all-over pattern, their own personal way of paying homage to POLO Ralph Lauren’s world-famous pony embroidery (in fact, if you look at certain vintage POLO pieces, you’ll find that they sport full body all-over pony embroideries, which is the exact design that inspired them here at Sillage for this new collection).
All of the embroidery was done in Fukuyama by one of the most well-established embroidery companies in the world, ensuring that the embroidered images perfectly reflect all of the details Hisayuki Hiranuma included in his illustrations.
Their new Safari Collection will consist of Hats , Big Pocket Overshirts, Circular pants, Hakama Pants., Gilets, and our brand-new Multi-Pocket Jackets, all available in white, brown, green, and black color-ways etc. , the perfect palette for any fall outfit.
